What if I need help?
I check my mailbox twice during the day. If you send me a message in the morning, I can usually have a reply back to you within the same day. A message sent in the afternoon may not be returned until the following morning. For general questions about Distance Learning, contact the main office.
What do I expect of you?
I do expect my students to put in a minimum of 5 hours a week for each class. Each class is designed around an 18 week block, although some students will finish early while others may need a little extra time to complete the course requirements. You are not penalized in either case. If you finish early, let the office know that you are ready to sign up for your next class. It will be important for you to maintain 5 hours a week per class to stay enrolled in the program. Failure to show any progress or submit timesheets within a two week period may result in a student being dropped from a class or the program.
Timesheets
As you've already been informed, submitting weekly timesheets is a very important part of maintaining your enrollment in the program. Please make sure you are submitting your timesheets online. Why? There are two main reasons.
State law requires that attendance reports be submitted by every public school. This actually protects you by showing that you are in compliance with State Laws requiring an underaged child be in attendance at a public or private educational institution.
The only reason we are able to provide free classes to most students is because we are receiving State Funding and must abide by their attendance requirements. Without it, you could expect to pay $300 or more per class, as some private institutions are currently charging students. In order to receive funding, we must comply to State Requirements by submitting Attendance Reports.
